AURORA:
I was born Aurora to a Noble king and a queen
A presentation party was at hand
But the Wicked witch Maleficent
Who had not been invited then
Decided that revenge must now be planned
She said that at a spinning wheel
One day I’d surely die
Before the sunset when I reach 16
But three fairies heard the curse she made
Three fairies who were not afraid
And dared to save the day, they interfered
A rose is a rose they always told me
And Briar Rose could be my only name
They cared for me each day and when they hold me
A rose is what they saw me in me
So Rose I became
They said I wouldn’t die
While I was at a spinning wheel
The way Maleficent had just fortold
And the prophecy that I would keep
Would be too simply fall asleep
And never through eternity grow old
A rose is a rose they always told me
And Briar Rose could be my only name
They cared for me each day and when they hold me
A rose is what they saw me in me
So Rose I became
They said only true love can break the spell
A kiss from your true love and all will be well
All will be well
And so it came to be
And at 16 as they told me
I fell asleep the way they said I might
And I slept until I felt the kiss
My prince had come
My spell is missed
And true love grew and true love make all things right
A rose is a rose they always told me
But a Sleeping Beauty is what I became
And now that I’ve got my prince to hold me
The love we found together
Puts the roses to shame
